At work I’m known as either the one who is always hungry or the one who always talks of food.
Culture mah! Always about makan. That’s how we connect, right?
I have quite a few things I wanted to write about but for now, I’m taking the easy way out by “telling” you what I’ve been up to (in terms of food, of course!) for the past few “low-key” months.

This is my first time buying fresh fish (yes, I know) and what better way to enjoy it than coating it with bread crumbs? This was left over from what I bought back on 25th June.

I like fish and chips! (I am aware that the “chips” part is missing in this picture)

I had left over frozen puff pastry, I need breakfast, I’m on a budget. Voila!
The amazing part is actually me waking up early enough to put these in the oven.

The very day I went to see the doctor for my acne problem. The very day she told me that although food is not directly related to acne, it’s best to stay away from takeouts.
I was in Napier mah – and I was craving. It was payday.

Now I realised that I needn’t go to Napier to get roast duck – they have it at ThaiHouse!

I don’t remember why I so semangat that day. Maybe because the half batch for LiMay’s birthday made me crave for more.
Guess who got the bulk of it?

Left over bacon and mushrooms. What better way to start my day off work?
Scrambled eggs, mushrooms, bacon, toast, coffee and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.

First cup from the outlet in Napier. It was payday (yes, you see a trend, too?). I took it by the beach and sat there for a good 10 minutes…then I left because I’ve finished my cuppa and the wind was chilly.

For nearly 2 weeks I craved for laksa – it’s unbelievable! When I ran out of rice noodles, I made do with glass noodles (I wanted laksa but I was unwilling to drive/walk to the supermarket to get more rice noodles.
)
When I say “I craved for”, it means I succumbed to my cravings and had laksa – I think it was about 6 or 7 times in a span of near 2 weeks.
No wonder the scales groaned after that.

Had left over fish (not from the first lot where I made fish and chips!) and ginger.
Tested KitMan’s recipe – really simple and yummy! I think the ginger that I had was a bit too “old”, thus the bitterness in the sauce. Better next time!

Had left over pandan leaves and of ALL things to promise, I promised this as a sempena kemerdekaan negaraku for work colleague. I’m glad it turned out decent.

Forrest’s birthday – mud cake from NewWorld.
Absolutely fantastic! Look at the texture and you can tell it’s a very good mud cake!
*salivates*

Courtesy of Samantha and Alex. Had to include the picture of the smaller container because therein lies the important bit of all chicken rice – the chili sauce!

Lunch for today – luncheon meat and some sort of foo yung egg. Reminds me of home and the simple meals we had.

Che-Cheh: thankyou – like i said, still need to learn.
hehe the luncheon meat and eggs are the best!! sometimes I cook the egg – make an even thin layer and then wrap it up with the fish cake paste… then cut it thinly. Like this
