As things would have it, people rushed into the doctor’s at the last minute and I had to wait till nearly 630pm to get out of work. Just as I decided to go for the evening service.
The last patient was actually Judy from next door – she had blood all over her shirt! She knocked her head against her car boot!
Her advice, “Don’t go grocery shopping after work!”
Anyway, as I was heading home, rain felt “heavier” than usual – turned out it was a mild sleet-shower!
Heavy snow warning for Hawkes Bay!
Granted, not in Hastings itself (maybe at Te Mata Peak) but it was still kind of “exciting” if we get anything here!
Hey, hey!
I arrived NewZealand last year on this very same day – 28th May (it was a Wednesday last year).
Maybe we can get some fish+chips to “commemorate” this day!
It was my first meal then and being the sentimental me, I would like to have some “fush” and chips today.
The only thing different now is that Lucky doesn’t come into the house to be in front of the fire anymore.
It may not save me a whole lot of money but it could get me nearly 10 cups of coffee.
I don’t know if it’s just me over thinking this matter – most of the time (if not all, as I’ve observed in my past week or so in my not-too-alert state) the travel period would be for 7 days, Monday to Sunday.
Why is the AKL/NAPvv only for 6 days?
It would have been perfect if they stuck to their normal 7 days travel period per special.
The savings would get me about 21 cups of coffee.
Oh well…here I come to celebrate your birthday and your RPh, LiMay!!!
Here, you get sick leave/day(s) – so you don’t need to rush to the doctor to get a medical certificate. You would only need the MC if you’re out of work for a few days.
However, I would only be entitled to sick leave/day(s) after a year of employment (though Holidays Act 2003 says that for most employees, they are granted a minimum of 5 days after the first 6 months of continuous employment).
Today, I was *this* tempted to call in sick.
I woke up with a sorethroat (I KNEW it was going to turn out this way once I hit the sack yesterday night because the signs and feelings started yesterday afternoon) but I cannot afford to take the day off – literally.
No annual leave(s) left, no sick leave/day(s)…I’ve already been on unpaid leave for a week (yea – why do you think I was only back in Malaysia for 2 weeks? If I could push it, I would’ve already taken 3 weeks’ break!).
Thankfully, I am feeling better now. I have two days to bounce back to my usual self –
