Skin woes

by FeR on February 7, 2009 in female

I am fed-up of it.
I wish I could step out of my current skin and shed if off like how a snake would.

Not only is my face breaking out like crazy, I think I’ve also got keratosis pilaris (again, they say it’s particularly common in teenagers) – are these not signs of delayed puberty?!

:bum:

The irony of people asking me about acne solutions – it’s just a big joke. I don’t even want to answer those questions at work, especially when I have this nagging feeling that they are scrutinizing my face. My suggestions would be redundant.

*sigh*

It’s not like I don’t wash my face (I trrrrry very hard not to pick ‘em spots!) and I’m already taking supplements. I’ve tried to cut out certain foods or changing their source (think organic and fresh) but nothing seems to work. I’ve tried products that worked for others – if it worked for me, I wouldn’t mind forking out any amount of money (yes, vain is I) but it doesn’t…and I am not able to keep up with it.

Despite knowing how to combat acne on paper, I have yet to find a solution that will work for me.

So now I have shiny, red, pimply face AND goose-bumpy upper arms (and some-other-place-which-I-shall-not-divulge).

Great.

I can die happy now.

Hey babe,
I started breaking out around the chin and etc because of stress. Used proactiv and that made it worst.. I’ve been using the dermalogica for acne whatever and it actually helps.

hey hey!
I’ve tried Dermalogica.

:bum:

that’s one of those brands I’ve splurged on and didn’t see my skin improving.

*sigh*

But thanks for the suggestion! :)

I also have occasional breakouts. I think Origins works quite okay for me. But still cannot tutup my large pores. I like face wash with lemon extract such as in Origins. Now I’m using Garnier (cuba cuba) with lemon extract face wash. Love the smell. My pimples I use (I think I told you before) PanOxyl Acnegel (with benzoyl peroxide). I think you said cannot work for you right?

Well I know pimples breakouts are not cause by eating spicy food or chocolate. They’re due to STRESS, oily food.

Btw try to have more beauty sleep, mediate and moisturize your whole body incl. face. I heard that’s the secret to youthful beauty. I’ve yet to try… hahaha

Che-Cheh: beauty sleep – am going to try that. :hee:

Hello Fer,

We are both in the same boat, unfortunately…..I don’t know why my face started to break out right after I moved to New Jersey.

Proactive used to work for me but the second time around, no use. Now, I am using Clinique Acne Care System. Three steps just like Proactive. It is very drying. I felt like my face is like a tree bark….skin is peeling so bad. Need to use lots of moisturizer. I think it is doing the job but my right cheek still has some left over pimple…..sigh=( They have sample size if you want to try it out before committing to a bigger bottle.

Sleep, water, fruits, don’t touch muka, SK-II!! really good investment :)

Yee Won: I’ve tried benzoyl peroxide and it didn’t work for me – so I wouldn’t consider Proactive (if I did, I’d buy other drugstore products with BP) I’ve also tried Clinique. :(

LyeChan: already tried…and SK-II don’t work for me! :(
