This would be our itinerary/plan when you get here.
(We, from here on, will assume that I would’ve gotten the camera and car/renting a car)
Hastings
Trout fishing!Unfortunately, it’s too expensive- Ice-cream at Munro’s – 100% real fruit ice-cream!
- Frimley Park/Osmanthus Garden
- Waimarama beach (we can have Fish+Chips by the beach!)
- Te Mata Peak Park – see the view from the top!
- Weekend market – fresh produce, hopefully!
- Spanish Mission and Art Deco
- Visit Fruitworld (fresh things mah!
)
Napier
- Gannet Colonies at Cape Kidnappers
- Vineyard tour! Can do a bike-tour also. Hawke’s Bay is femes for wine – so it’s a must!
- Cafes/alfresco dining with seaside setting! Starbucks!
- Learn about the great 1931 earthquake disaster
- Marine Parade (“blacksand” beaches)
- Weekend market – apparently biggest one in Hawke’s Bay
- The Silky Oak Chocolate Company
- Classic Sheepskins (must go back with NZ souvenirs mah! For cold winter nights ;) )
- Opossum World
And if we’ve got time (and energy), we can take a 1.5 hours’ drive to Taupo (where Lake Taupo is)…we can do a day trip (more for the scenic view between here and Taupo) – stopping here and there to snap pictures!
Pack an extra card or bring a portable, handy external hard disk!
Ooo! Can’t wait!
All those things I’ve listed…I’ve never done them before.
