Helen (the hostess) basically got a paper and pen, asked what each person is bringing…tadaaaa!!! Wednesday dinner is done!
I chose to bring drinks because I wouldn’t have time to cook (not that I really want to also lah…I don’t want to poison anyone. *hehe* ) and I walked there after work.
I LOVE Helen’s place – especially her kitchen.
(Depends on which personality is taking charge for the moment, I love both character and contemporary kitchens. )
Being an intern is not easy when I supposedly come with “4.5 years experience” as a pharmacist.
Good is that I feel “young” again and I’m happy to learn more/refresh my memory on what I’ve studied back in Uni.
Bad is that I think I’m not exactly painting a very nice picture of the system/practice back in Malaysia.
Being quizzed and not knowing the answers is difficult…but I do learn better when I’m on the job than if you give me a book and ask me to mug on it.
In a way I’m happy to be quizzed even if I ternga-nga don’t know how to answer Rory…
That’s when I get to learn and it will definitely stick in my memory for a longer period of time than if I were to read it up on my own.
Trust me when I say that many things seem to be so foreign to me at the moment…though they do have that slight hint of familiarity.
I’ve not taken a lot of pictures in my 2 weeks here and the blog has been rather bare (though if you’ve noticed, I’ve inserted quite a bit of pictures lately).
Now, I give you Hastings (uhm…some sort) and Frimley Park on a beautiful Sunday – starting from after church, walking back to the west end of Hastings.
Lots of pictures ahead!
This is the “middle” point, where the railway sits on. On one side it’s the East side and the other is West.
I was standing at the cross junction of Russell and Heretaunga Street.
It’s a free Saturday for me but I went in to work from 3pm to 8pm!
I wanted to get my assignment task done and I figured that if I go in on a non-working day, I can take my time at the dispensary and not be pressured to work…get what I mean?
Carmen’s parents have quite a big garden (I’ve been told…I’ve never been to Havelock North) and they grow their own vegetables.
Home grown is definitely different from store bought goods…biting into those carrots was like biting into an apple. Crunchy and sweet! I like carrots but I never really take them raw without some dip…
Sitting by the bay window in my room – trying to soak in as much sun as possible!
