I’ve not taken a lot of pictures in my 2 weeks here and the blog has been rather bare (though if you’ve noticed, I’ve inserted quite a bit of pictures lately).
Now, I give you Hastings (uhm…some sort) and Frimley Park on a beautiful Sunday – starting from after church, walking back to the west end of Hastings.
Lots of pictures ahead!

This is the “middle” point, where the railway sits on. On one side it’s the East side and the other is West.
I was standing at the cross junction of Russell and Heretaunga Street.

The clock tower.

Railway.
Even the fountain/water feature has to give way to the railway!

Reading Cinema on Heretaunga East.
Want to watch SATC’s movie but $13.50 for a ticket?
*thinks twice*

Me standing on the west side and snapping a picture of the east.

Interesting!
Got home, did laundry, spoke to mom…and Carmen asked if I wanted to go to the park.
It was a nice, warm, sunny day!
What do you think?

Frimley Park.
I would like to come by during summer when the grass and land is dry…and sit in the shade, doing nothing.
Ah!

Botak trees hovering over me.

Bed of leaves.

I may have fried my camera lens by doing this.

I think this picture is nice but nothing beats being there itself to see it in real life.
:pleased:

I like the yellow+blue contrast. Not to forget, the white!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away!
I’ve never liked “red” apples back home because I fear they are “powdery”…but the apples here are so good! Crunchy, juicy and fresh from the orchard!
Last week when Natalie+David brought me around, you could see yards and yards of apple trees! A lot of them fell on the ground with no one to pick after them because apparently it’s too expensive to hire “pickers”.
What a waste of good apples!

The rose garden.
All the patches have got names…and apparently they are all different species.

What would you expect a rose called “Disco Dancer” to look like?

Vibrant!

Victoria’s Secret?

So pure and white geh?

Wise woman taking a picture.
Don’t jump to conclusion – think out of the box.

I never really understood why people bother smelling roses (or why they say “Stop and smell the roses”) because the roses you buy back home are…smell-less.

But these “Wise Women” are lovely!

Well, the main reason for Carmen to go to the park was for this little guy here – having the time of his life playing with fallen leaves.
Ta-daaa!!!
The end of my lovely park-walking day.
