Achelly hor, I don’t fancy steamboat.
Initially when Surt said she’s going for dinner with SK, I thought of joining them (boh paiseh lah!
).
I had no cravings today! Weird, right? ![]()
So the couple decided to go for steamboat (Surt’s not feeling well, she wanted soup) and I told Surt that I would not go lah…me no likey.
Then she told me it’s shabu shabu (since last week I got to try it and liked it), I got changed and followed them! ![]()
She also “enticed” me with, “Can also order sushi and sashimi!”

Nagomi Shabu-Shabu is at Jaya33.

Rib-Eye promotion. Both Surt and SK ordered this.

Don’t be fooled by what you see from the outside, it’s quite a spacious restaurant.

*sob sob*
Surt and SK asked me to sit in another table because I buat malu taking pictures of anything and everything!

No lah!
That was just their mirror reflection. *hehe*
As you can see, everyone would have their individual hot plate and pot. No worries on “fighting” for space or soup.
They also have an adequate selection of sushi, sashimi and some other items (no chawan mushi
) but do remember, it’s Nagomi Shabu-Shabu mah!
Recommended soup: Spicy soup! Not very spicy but gives enough kick for you to start sniffling.

See? My own pot. No fighting!
And keep your grubby hands off my pot!

Thinly sliced beef for you to “shabu-shabu” in your own pot. The set comes with a generous plate of vegetables, beancurd and something like glass noodles (texture is different, that’s why “something like”).

I chose the salmon set…if you do dunk the salmon in the soup, it becomes “tasteless” somehow.
I was disappointed.
I suspect that it’s not meant to be dunk into the soup…and to be taken as what it is, sashimi…but they didn’t provide wasabi (if it’s meant to be taken raw).
In the end, I took the salmon raw…with the help of some leftover wasabi from the soft shell crab hand roll I took earlier (I know! Pig!!!)
No more salmon next time! Get the beef, it’s definitely better. If you don’t take beef, there’s also chicken and a vegetarian option.

Chicken Shabu-Shabu

See them prepare the minced chicken ball! This is really good. If they provide an option of having all of the chicken in minced form, I wouldn’t mind going for it.

Photos end here for the night – when my soup is bubbling.
It is that good that I didn’t take anymore pictures! ![]()
It was a cold night, and shabu-shabu was the perfect warmer.
*slurps*
Oh! I think it came up to about RM50 per person. Somewhere there.
Ehh…I don’t know because I didn’t pay.

Hi
Thank you for choosing Nagomi shabu shabu.
Thank you for the valueable feedback on the salmon set. The salmon that we served are sashimi grade and meant to eat raw
If you ain’t the raw lover, you can swish it using spicy soup but just for 30 secs.
We have just launched our new menu, the Japanese snacks. Please drop by at Nagomi when you are free.
Thank you
Regards
Tam
