Messy message

See…iChat’s interface is kinda cute. I like the bubble talk and the [dotdotdot] when the person is typing out a message.

Also, it’s already available on the MB. Might as well make full use of it, right?

But most, if not all, of my friends are on MSN. Adium is still giving me the “peekaboo” treatment where my contacts would just disappear from my list (then I’ve to go offline and log in again thereafter) and aMSN is…boring looking.

So I tried using Psi to link MSN to iChat.
Not only did my list come out super confusing, everyone else’s icon on my list is MY icon picture and I can’t see some people who are online! I did not like the fact that I couldn’t change my display name easily either.
Then, in order to have the contacts displayed on the list in a decent manner, I’ve to add an address card to the contact – which means, when you do change your nickname/display name, I won’t see it.

Maybe I’m not doing it right but I’ve been through plenty of tutorials and sites…I followed everything exactly.
I can put aside everything just to keep the cute chat bubble option but if I can’t see my contacts who ARE online, it defeats the purpose lah right? Maybe in the future when they come out with a proper solution/integration then I’d attempt iChat again. For now I’d probably stick to Adium.

*sigh*

It’s “fixed” but still cannot change my display name easily nor would I be able to see your fancy schmancy nicknames on my list. I will only see your names as I have entered in my address book.

Still no AV chats but I’m quite happy at the moment because the iChat windows are just too cute!

As for AV chats, I’d stick to Skype. So anyone’s on Skype?
