More birthday pictures

by FeR on December 5, 2007 in eating out, special events

Actually, on the week before I asked her if she had any plans on her birthday. I thought of taking her out for dinner if she didn’t. She told me she had an event to kau tim and she would be held up till 8pm at CrownePlaza.

We were thinking of where to go in KL…then Elaine messaged to ask what we’re doing for JoFo’s birthday. Couldn’t be more perfect because Elaine is the one to ask for dining places in KL! *hehe*
After a short series of email, it was decided that we would go to NeroTeca at Somerset.

Elaine and JoFo were already in KL and it was near to the venue. KinFei will be picking Lav up from Segambut, which is also near KL. I was coming from TamanDesa, which is not far away. Wyn and Sarah also coming from Cheras. Danny coming from Kajang after work…it was a good plan.

Initially I thought I could hitch a ride from KinFei but because he was picking up Lav, it wouldn’t be “on the way” to come pick me. Coincidently Danny was coming from Kajang and he offered to give me a lift (I was actually “screaming” in the email, “I WANT A RIDEEEEEEEEEEEE there!”).

Since both of us also blur on where exactly is the place, we waited for KinFei (after he has picked up Lav, Elaine and JoFo) at JalanAlor.

Following MrLee.

When we got there, we drove into the open carpark space opposite of Somerset. I looked at it and thought, “Oh no…how to walk? So wet…my shoes! No indoor parking meh?”
Then we saw KinFei turning out towards Somerset’s building and I said, “Yay! Maybe got parking inside!”

I later found out it was because someone in KinFei’s car was worried that she may spoil her shoes…and so kind of the guys to drop us off at the lobby (though for Danny’s case, he was just following KinFei *haha*).

While the boys were parking the car, the girls shared a few laughs. About what?
Wouldn’t you want to know…*smirk*

Pots and pans.

What do you think they were doing? Staring at the waiter…

…not because he’s cute. I think they were gawking (at least for Elaine) in regret in asking him about the specials. I didn’t understand a word he said – not because he spoke badly but because I am badly exposed to food and it was rather noisy.

NeroTeca.

Do you know who received flowers today? Her favourite one, nothing less.

Olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic cloves.

Bored of waiting for food. I like my Mickey ring!

This picture was taken by Lav…and the camera was on a mini tripod. Hmmm…

Nah! I think I was laughing and moved. *hehe*

<< Ginger Beer and >> Ginger Ale
After tasting Ginger Beer, you’d find Ginger Ale a bit bland…tasteless.

Yummy bread. I think most were starving (or maybe I’m just speaking for myself)…we stopped when the main dishes arrived, which was near the bottom of the basket.

MrsLaw (not to be confused with FC, but it’s the Jude’s Law) saying, “No pictures, please!” *shaking head*

KinFei chewing at superspeed!

Birthday girl flirting with the camera…unfortunately camera person not cute (in the guy sense).

I had to ask KinFei to help me take a picture…lest the night would end without having any pictures of self. *hehe*

“This is MY bread…hmmph!”

Wyn : “I came all the way here to have bread?! Hmmph!”

Piemontese salad
- juicy romaine and lettuce in creamy caper vinaigrette, grilled marinated chicken, mushroom “trifolati”, half dried tomatoes, parmesan and rosemary croutons

Tagliatelle Funghi e Prosciutto
- ham and mushroom

Speck

- smoked ham & buffalo mozzarella antipasto with steam veggie

Parmigiana

- eggplant, ham and smoked cheese

Grigliata Mista
- grilled pork chops, spareribs, bacon & sausages served with rustic potatoes and green sauce – for 2 pax

Risotto
- with prawns

Elaine said she ordered one with prawns and the other with mushrooms…but both plates came out with prawns. *shrugs*

*burp*

The restaurant’s speaker blasted out a very loud rendition of “Happy Birthday” as JoFo was served a Tiramisu with a candle in it. *haha*

JoFo : *gasp!*

This is not the first time she got embarrassed with a song…I think the last time she was caught off guard (with photos to prove) was in Italiannies. *hehe*

*jeling*

Tiramisu and a scoop of Gelato

Mmm…!

FeR, JoFo, Sarah.

Hope you had a great time, JoFo! Maybe it won’t be “My best birthday EVER!” but like Lav said, it was like having dinner together with the family…
Good food, good company, good laughs…what’s not to like, right?

RIGHT?!
