Thank you all….

Blissfully engaged,
E.Goh

So she did…is that JudeLaw’s hand? Doesn’t she look “blisfully engaged”? *hehe*

[Whenever you go out with FeR or AuntyHazel ah, the camera would always be around and they'd always be taking pictures.
Yea, but 20 years down you look back and there are so many photos to look through...]

Nero Teca is located in KL, Somerset’s ground floor. I didn’t know how to get there, neither did Danny (who graciously offered to give me a lift)…so we waited for KinFei (he picked up Lav, Elaine and JoFo) at JalanAlor to lead us there.

Nero Teca was suggested by Elaine (trust her to know foodie places in KL!) and it was chosen because the birthday girl was busy at CrownePlaza, getting off work at 8pm. Going somewhere else would be a hassle, besides wasting the time driving through traffic.

I would not go into details on JoFo’s birthday itself (*hehe* that would come under “Birthday” section lah) so it’s more like jotting down what we’ve eaten and experience in the restaurant.

I had no idea on what to have so I was grateful when Elaine arranged the choices for us. I think it was just the nice amount – we shared most of the food (except for Wyn and Sarah…who didn’t take much!) and by the time we got to desserts, we were glad we ordered half the portion.

Piemontese salad (juicy romaine and lettuce in creamy caper vinaigrette, grilled marinated chicken, mushroom “trifolati”, half dried tomatoes, parmesan and rosemary croutons)
Notice I only took a little of it?
Me no like salad but this was pretty good! I think it’s because of the parmesan..but I do like asparagus! It doesn’t say it’s got asparagus in the menu but…*shrugs*

Tagliatelle Funghi e Prosciutto (ham and mushroom)
It arrived at our table a little dry. I don’t know if that’s how the texture should be…but a leeeeeeetle bit more of the sauce wouldn’t hurt. It was dry that it was difficult to even separate a portion out of the bowl. The pasta were sorta stuck together.
Mine looks nice (*ahem!*) because I rearranged all the dishes in small portions on my plate. *hehe*

Speck (smoked ham & buffalo mozzarella antipasto with steam veggie)
*hehe*
First look at the cheese, “Hurrah!”
I guessed it was mozzarella due to the colour and “softness”(? is that even applicable to how you judge a cheese?)
I don’t quite fancy cheese in chunks – I don’t know how to appreciate cheese+wine. Mozzarella, however, I’m okay with it. As with cheddar and parmesan. Common ones you get in pizza and pasta lor.

Parmigiana (eggplant, ham and smoked cheese)
Am I feeling adventurous these days? It’s like as if I’ve got a quota for a day (which is ONCE a day) to let go of my dislikes and dive into something I would not take or haven’t taken before.

Remember I didn’t even touch my eggplant/brinjal/aubergine tempura? It’s probably because I’ve already used up my quota to try the shishamo earlier in the day. *hehe*

Then again…I don’t even know if I’ve got any eggplant on my plate. It may well be only ham and cheese!

Grigliata Mista (grilled pork chops, spareribs, bacon & sausages served with rustic potatoes and green sauce – for 2 pax)
Ah! My favourite! The meat dish. *hehe*
Items arranged in clockwise direction if referring to item description (leave out the potato and green sauce)
Pork chop – ooo! Juicy! *slurps*

Risotto – with prawns
Can’t find this on their menu and Elaine said that you’ve got to pre-order it a day before. *shrugs*
Why eh?
I find it a bit “fishy” but the rest said it was wunnnnerful!

Tiramisu (the authentic with Marsala and Mascarpone); Gelato (chocolate or vanilla, 1 scoop)
Ah! The tiramisu was worth having – one of the better ones I’ve tasted.

Lav caught me “feeling” the texture of the spongey layer and asked, “What are you doing??”

*goofy grin*

It’s quite a small, cosy restaurant so do book a place before going there to avoid being turned away.

It’s late night and the sky is supposed to be pitch dark.
Imagine the amount of energy to light up the whole building…which in turn, able to light up the sky-area around it.
GothamCity-like, no?

JoFo calling a friend to tell her joke.

“What is a Happy Burger called?”
Bergembira!”

And she was laughing like a mad woman.

We seem to act like we were intoxicated but the weird thing – nothing else but good food and companion involved!

Another example…I asked what was it on the platter (which I found out later was grilled pork chops)?
JoFo : Wait. Let me ask.
*looks at pork chops* Eh! What are you ah?
*pause* No answer woh.

Lav : Wah! You very funny huh tonight?

Hope you had a good time, babes!

The restaurant was a good experience – the interior was quite interesting, they really make full use of their space. The “walls” are fitted with shelves to display their retail items and I’m sure they serve as part of the restaurant’s deco as well.

They sell imported items from Italy – so if you’re like me, who knows nuts about what’s good and what’s not (or whether there are any differences between other Italian products available in our Malaysian market)…we may not know how to appreciate their retail line.
