LiMay’s belated Birthday dinner

by FeR on July 28, 2007 in special events

Her birthday was on the 3rd of July. Belated gila-gila man! Siow didn’t get to join us – when you’re working (when some of them work weekends), it’s difficult to get everyone together. Any later than this date, we’d be celebrating Hoey’s birthday already! *hehe*

I met up with Sze-Mien and HuiPing at Starbucks (again! Coffee junkies! Pfft! I cannot take coffee…) – they arrived at 615pm!!! We were all on time because we were afraid of Miss Yap. Nanti kena marah. I sked. *hehe*
We parked at BangsarVillage and walked over to LaBodega.

“A bit the dark right here? Can’t even see the menu.”

Before even looking at menu/food list – “Must order Sangria!”

Bunch of alco’s – pharmacist konon. *hehe*

The four of us (LiMay, HuiPing, Sze-Mien and I) ordered first without waiting for Hoey and JoFo (they said they were going to be late mah and we were hungry!). Before Hoey arrived, we’ve already finished our appetiser.

*oink oink!*

HuiPing, Sze-Mien

“Wah! Seeing stars ah now! This place is so dark and your camera’s flash so bright!”

*pening*

I couldn’t remember much of what went on (prolly effect of Sangria – have not been taking alcohol for quite some time and I think my tolerance is now really low) – was a bit whoozy, sleepy and warm. I remember Hoey showing us pictures of (what I call) “Stitch around the world!”
Unfortunately she lost her little Stitch in Paris. JoFo said probably Stitch had too much fun in Paris that he decided to stay on. *hehe*

I hope you had a good time LiMay! I didn’t take much pictures (a bit difficult to do so in the dark and if with the flash, everything looks so washed out!) and remembered much (low alcohol tolerance *hehe*) – it was good to gather together having a (very full) meal.

Time has changed – we’re now talking (gossiping/bitching) a lot about work, future, career advancement, work/people strategy, professional circle, curtains(!!!). All the same few things these days – we need to talk about fun! We need to have some mindless fun.

Let me write this down before I end. I WILL NOT ever want to go to CoffeeBean at BVII anymore (actually, I don’t like going there – I prefer going to Starbucks. I don’t think any of us prefer CoffeeBean but we went there because…because of stupidity. I suggested it because I didn’t see Starbucks right opposite the street and CoffeeBean was the only one that I saw had an open area – it was late and in BVII, Starbucks was right inside of the building – they were closing up already.) because of the bad service. Wait. It’s not even service! Not fit to be called that. Pfft.

Call yourself an assistant supervisor. Pfft!

(Oh yea! Went to CoffeeBean also because of the Citibank offer – mana tau they said don’t have! How can? I thought celebrating 10years anniversary? I went with Wongka in Penang and with the rest in MidValley – we had free drinks also what!)

They didn’t ask, “Is there anything else?” and just walked off when LiMay has not even finished her ordering. Just because you see there’s two of us at the counter (LiMay ordered two drinks before that) you take it for granted that that’s all? You don’t even ask if we wanted whipped cream or not (and we didn’t want it – for one of the drinks anyway).

So this AS thought he was stepping in to help us/his staff but ended up offending us even more than his staff.

1. He didn’t smile. What core value? Website says core value – friendly. Pfft!
2. He wasn’t attentive. We were ordering and he was looking around.
3. He didn’t make eye contact when he passed the creditcard slip. So rude!
4. His hand just hung over the register when he gave LiMay the receipt.

Didn’t say what it was, didn’t say thankyou. NOTHING. So rude! I’ve handled retail customers before and I don’t just pass the creditcard slip without saying, “Can you please just sign here” and “Thank you!” Customer service? Pfft.

He didn’t hear me when I muttered under my breath, “You’re welcome” and “This is why people go to Starbucks.” I took the creditcard slip (LiMay said that she wouldn’t even know that that was the slip she was supposed to sign if I didn’t pass it to her because he didn’t say a word!!! So RUDEEEEEEEE!!!) because I could see LiMay’s face getting black…

Like this

*hehe*

Somehow it’s scary to see your friend throw a hissy fit but it’s okay for you to throw one of your own.

My favourite past time – taking comments card and writing LOTS of stuff if I’m not happy. Pfft. And no, writing comments is not my way of a hissy fit. *hehe*
